Abbey Weise Brisbane Actor

What’s the most interesting workshop you’ve attended?

I attended an accent workshop with Talent Company Australia, which went over many weeks. It was such an amazing experience it was interesting in terms of learning how much the dialect affects every other element. The impact I found it had was not what I expected. I found I learned so much, not just how to talk in a certain accent.

What was your headshot session like?

I had an amazing session. Initially, I was nervous but I felt relaxed and comfortable within minutes. We were able to make the shoot as authentic as possible. I had so much fun and created something special.

Who is your agent?

Howell Management

Do you work in film, theatre, or both?

Both. I love the adaptability of the two. I find being able to understand and adapt to the different techniques and requirements of both interesting. I’m able to enjoy and appreciate both and see the interaction between the two. I come from a dancing and singing background which is awesome to be able to incorporate that into acting.

What do you like about acting the most?

I love the process of creating a character. It is something that is so inherently special and important. To then be able to transform and almost be absorbed by the character is something that feels unique and fulfilling.

When did you start acting? What got you started?

I was introduced to acting at a young age. I loved being on stage. Between dancing and school plays I became fond of the arts. I could have been considered a bit of a dramatic child, therefore, being able to learn to express this within a character was rewarding. I had the opportunity to later learn screen acting as well as stage acting and I continue to love it and learn over time.

Who do you most admire?

Like a lot of girls, I always wanted to be Hermione Granger. However, over the past years, I continue to look toward Emma Watson. She has extensive capabilities in both film and within society. Her willingness to learn and speak on behalf of others generating awareness is eye-opening. I admire her ability to be able to incorporate and influence so many aspects of society.

If you had a magic wand, what show would you do next?

If I had a magic wand, the show I have always dreamed of being a part of in some way is Doctor who. That has and always will be my magic wand dream.

Anything else you’d like to tell us about yourself?

I grew up on a farm in country NSW, where I then attended boarding school in Melbourne and have finished up in Brisbane to further my studies. Which has been a brilliant experience growing up in two extremely different environments. It has been an amazing learning experience as well.
